Also shows up in 1790 Abbeville District, South Carolina Census. 4. I speculate that Abel, Drury and John are brothers but no proof at this time. 5. ****** Franklin County Deeds, Vol. 1, page 120; No 591; $1.50; 150 acres John Sturdivant enters one hundred & fifty acres of land in Franklin County on the west boundary line of his land he lives on Beginning at a black oak marked A. running west and north so as to include the plantation where Abel Hodges formerly lived Jany 2 1826 John Sturdivant, Locator 6. ****** Franklin County Deeds, Vol. 1 page 66; No 296; $31.25; 250 acres; Copd. David Campbell enters two hundred and fifty acres of land in Franklin county about a mile from the place on which Squire Sturdivant lives and adjacent to the lands on which the Hodges live lying on the north side of Elk river Beginning at a spanish oak standing by the side of an old road landing from Hodges to a farm on the school land (sd. oak has a hole in it & is marked W. just above sd. hole running from thence west 200 poles leaving a small field not now in cultivation to the right & including said field thence north 200 poles thence east and south for compliment.
