I am Ron Calhoun, and related to the Brownlow clan via our Boykin kin.

Gene Brownlow's Great Grandmother, Hatty Lou Boykin Brownlow was the sister of my Great Grandfather, Robert Lee Boykin.

Robert Lee Boykin married Lydia Ellen Utz and they had 7 children. Their youngest child, Ruth Lydia Boykin, married Samuel Daniel "Dan" Calhoun. These were my paternal grandparents, and I am fortunate to have grandmother Ruth's photo album. I will be posting these photos on the Brownlow / Boykin website, as well as the headstone photos as available.

There are some mysteries that I would like to solve, though that might be a daunting task:

Robert Lee and Lydia's second child, listed in the Boykin family bible as "Own" (I think Owen) might have also been referred to as Lester. He was born the 29th of May, 1890.

The 26 February 1897 letter from W. J. Boykin to his niece, Mrs. Lydia Allen, discussed the death of her "Uncle Bud" who burned to death. The letter states that all his friends knew him as "Sam." Who was this person?
